i started to prepare pappadam. Almost nearly burned it..:(( . Shud be more careful.

A tiring week comes to an end..Was under some pressure to finish some work on friday.Cudnt finish it.

Its 'aaraattu '(Sacred bath) at the varaha temple in my home town.'Aaraattu' festival lasts for 8 days starting from the 'kodiyettam'.On each of these days there wud be 'sadya' called 'Sambradhan' at the temple.The festival comes to an end  on the 8th day with the bathing of god at the pond in temple.
There will be lot of visitors at our home during these days and everyone would be in a happy mood.

Since it is vacation lots of friends will have come to their relative's houses nearby.and there used to be a big gang of friends raring to run to the ground after the 'sambraadhan'.Jithu,amrithraj,dayan,jayaram,raju,sreenath,vittal,mayesh,jagadeesh,sreenivasan,arun all wud be there..:)..But with big houses having encroached to our playing area,we have stopped playing anymore there.Everyone have grown up and the enthusiasam also has died down..:(.

The weather is really good today. 'Mazha peythu thornirikkunnu'. :).
We plan to go to the indian restaurant for the dinner.

I love this song a lot...'Aadya vasathame'.Music by late Ravendran master.One of the many memorable songs which he has created for us .and that in the beautiful voice of chitra.

Its really a treat for the soul when chitra sings the  following lines in this song.beautiful lyrics too..

to Deepak for doing well for his interview for the post of lecturer at SJCET,Palai.  ..They will let him know the results within a week.Waiting to hear that good news...Hard to describe how much happy i feel when i chat with him..

to Sehwag and Sachin for their performace at kochi..:)..sorry  if you dont like cricket,but cudnt resist writing abt this...Sachin turned his arm once again at Kochi. and i was really happy to see that cute little smile on his face when he got those wickets..

A funny thing during the presentation ceremony:
Sehwag just ran and picked his trophy from the table before Ravi shastri  could even ask  the distinguised guest to present the Man of the Match Award..
Shastri's comment was: " Well..Sehwag has picked it up himself...There is nothing wrong this man can do at the moment!". :)
 
I need to go to home now and cook something...Thinking of rice and yesterday's dhal in fridge.

The 3rd test between indian and pakistan is being played at bangalore...I got to watch the glimpses of the match in in between my work..Whenever they showed the crowd i wud search eagerly for a familiar face.No luck though..:(

Pakistan has put a big total.But i really enjoyed the way Sehwag started his reply.The 5th ball of danish kaneria's 1st over was dispatched over the Long On for a big six.This is how Ravi shastri,the commentator described it.

u will think that he has hit it  against the spin..

Happy Easter....

It has been an year in korea now...I came here on march 19th last year.Saw new things in life and work,tried to learn.But now,really eager to get back home..hopefully i can go back in june.Hopefully...

Really enjoyed india winning the kolkatta test on sunday..:).It was an exciting match..I was really happy that i cud see it..We went to the pakistani restaurant in Deagu after 2 months,on saturday.Mr.sohail(owner of the hotel) has also setup a dish antenna for watching the watch..He enthusiastically explained how he set it up for watching the series,spending 600 dollars.

How passionate the people of these 2 countries are about this game! :)..

had a nice weekend..Watched the Australia-New zealand 3rd ODI on saturday.Was watching a LIVE match after a looooooong time.was so thrilled on friday.Big Thanx to kiran and Neelan chettayi for their help..I kept an alarm on saturday morning and got up.After the Aussies' batting,went to Cappello to have lunch.and what more!..they prepared a Potato pizza specially for me for the Buffae...aFternoon ,i was feelin really sleepy,since i had slept only 2.5hrs friday night..But all my sleep ran away when i saw Brett Lee charging in!..It was a good match though the Scoreline may not suggest so.Aussies',especially Symonds' fielding had been superb .

Had a good long sleep and woke up only at 6 in the evening today and cooked my lunch/dinner.

I need to be more planned ?.and i should stop worrying about many silly things..now have to stop worrying and spend more time on things which have some good purpose..Hope i would be able to come back well...

i listened to the songs from "vadakkumnathan"..Really liked the song "kalabham tharaam" sung by chitra.It is one of those songs which you dont feel that good when listening for the 1st time.But after i listened to it a couple of times,i really really liked the song..It has been fantastic!.:)
Music is by raveendran maash.So it cant go bad.

I begin to like chitra's voice better and better with each passing day..I dont why i didnt realise it some years back.Its really difficult to pick my best songs.But those which immediately rush to my mind are "thaaram valkannaadi nokki.." from the movie Keli (music bharathan). and the song "pularkaala sundara swapnathil.." (music:raveendran)from the movie oru maymaasa pulariyil.

i reached back gumi on 21st.was feeling lazy to write anything.Falling ill was another reason.I was not feeling well for past 1.5 weeks.Had really nice time when at home.I spend 3 weeks in india.enjoyed sometime with my friends in bangalore also.Abi and deepak had come down to bangalore.It was great to see them after such a long time.as always,the vacation went very fast.:(,now back again to my routine work.

I did manage to buy a digital camera(canon powershot A80) from singapore,on my way back.There are 2 shops(or 3)shops in singapore airport,no bargaining or anything.but still they were far cheaper than in india.

Sanu had come to airport to pick me.KC and siby also had come.They hadnt told me that they wud be coming.Felt really happy when i saw them there at the airport.

had a great time at home.ammumma also came to our house at thrissur.all of us together went for 2 movies(kazcha and mambazhakaalam) and also on a trip to veegaland.We also had a 'vazhipaadu' to go to tirupathi.Amma and appa were particular that we should go this time,since we had been keeping it postponing many times.We did go this time,but without ammumma since she was finding it difficult to walk properly.old Age seems to have effecting her too..:(.

These days it has started getting cold here,especially during nights.

I am about to take the airport limousine in 1 hrs time.It will reach Seoul at morning 6.The flight is at 9.I am also planning to do some shopping at singapore,since i got 6hrs there..

NO much updates for a little while and sorry for making your visits not worth it by not having posting regularly.
was little busy with my preparations for the travel.have almost finished my shopping.Need to book my bus-ticket to seoul today.Its only 2 days remaining now!.I will reach bangalore by saturday night.:).

sometimes I hate myself for being so lazy!..its only 1 week left and i havnt done any shopping or any preparation to go home :(.I was in some state during this week.I was not happy(stil not very much) with the way things happening around me..

Today is Vidyarambham.I woke up late.:( .Last year this time i was in our house at bangalore.On the vijayadasami day i went to durga pooja with amar.

I joined orkut.for past 2-3 days spend have been spending quite sometime on that..Was really surprised to meet lots of friends there.I found harish chettan there.(Harish chettan is only 1 year senior to me.But thats how i called him and i like it to be that way :-))I had the fortune of being harish chettan's room mate at Thomas sir's hostel for a brief period,when his room mate left the hostel.He has given me lots of tips which helped me tremendously.He went on to make all of us proud by winning the 1st rank in kerala engg.entrance.Hes currently doing his Ph.D in the prestigous MIT,USA.Will write more about him later.

I cant also forget Arunettan.He is one person who influenced me a lot during my predegree.How can anyone be so sincere whom they owe nothing!.I have met him only twice.But i can never forget the care and inspiration his letters gave me..Whenever i think of it,i feel proud that i could even associate with such a great person.Arunettan is about to complete his Ph.D from Maryland University in NanoElectronics.
But these days i havnt been not writing any mail to him :(.and i havt even send him a greeting card for the past 4 years .I feel ashamed of myself for these things.

We had a korean class today.guess who took the korean class?..Our manager here in korea,S.S kim! .Hes such a friendly and nice person.Even though hes in such position hes so kind when he talks to us.I feel like my teacher talking to me.

Korean alphabets are very few and easy to learn unlike japaneese.If a person puts in a dedicated effort for may be 3 hrs or so he can learn all the alphabets .He explained all the korean characters and how they pronounced it,and gave us examples of many words.



Earllier on the day,before the class S.S had taken us for lunch to Pizza hut.Had a really stupendous lunch..:).I filled my stomach in such a way theres not even an inch of space left.Both me and Venky had veggie pizza and garlic bread and my other friends had a Bulgogi pizza and 'chicken wings'.After the lunch we reached the office and S.S asked us whether we would be interested in learning some korean.We were happy and he readily said 'yes'.

I have got 2 good movies to watch over the weekend."pattanapravesham " and "godfather". :-).

Its getting really cold here.I am beginnig to feel unconfortable.It might be around 14-15 degrees now.i have forgot to take my jacket also..:((..In the weather forecast its going to be between 8-16 degrees for the whole of today

On the brighter side,I had a training today.It has been long time since i attended a seminar or class.Although it was an informal one,it was interesting.I felt refreshing.It was a 4 hr class.But towards the end i felt little boring..:) .

felt really happy that india has fought back against australia after their good start.

I watched "pranayavarnangal" yesterday night.It was not that i intended to watch it.but my dear friend wanted was eager to know the particular "poem book " that suresh gopi presents to manju warrior in the movie.I felt as if i had noted the name of the book.But couldnt recollect it.So I got the movie and eagerly forwared till that scene.it was "nerudayude kavithakal" :).

And then i felt like watching the movie again..I like the song "aaro viral meeti..." very much..Its one of my favourite songs.Feels really emotional while listening to it,isnt it?.Chitra is my favourite singer, even more than yesudas.Its also because of her so lovable character.

I like the song "varamanjalaadiya raavinte maaril..." for which sujatha got the state award also for its picturisation.The scene when they show the "velichapaad" in front of the tharavaadu and the background music during that time..when ever i think of pranayavarnangal..all these come to my mind.

i dont have any good movies to see today.:( watched "oru maravathoor kanavu " for sometime today morning.had seen this before.but just wanted to see those funny fight scenes from mammutti once again.Mammutti is doing a typical achayan role.when the movie began to get into serious mood, stopped it and went back to sleep again.
after this woke up at only afternoon 3o clock.was not feeling well.Had some head ache and feeling feverish also.I called up Venky as asked him what we will cook today.He was not feeling hungry and said he will have pizza later.So i prepared Curd rice(curd rice has become the most common and easiest thing to prepare for me).While having curd rice watched some part of the movie "priyam".After the lunch i rushed to the office to see if any of my friends were online.But didnt see anyone.Then checked the score board of the india-aussie match.Felt happy that Pathan and harbhajan had put up a small fight.Pathan even hit 2 sixes it seems!.Would have gone to watch the match if i were in bangalore.

I just spoke to my sister and achan in phone.she just finished her theory exams this friday.Will finish her practicals by 29th.and shes very happy that am coming on 30th.feeling happy that my vacation coincided with hers.:-).

I had thought of preparing a list of things which i would buy for my friends and home :).But cudnt do it because i am not feeling well.

we just came back from Deagu after after our dinner.Deagu is the 3rd largest city in south korea.Our place, Gumi is around 50 KM from Deagu.We had gone is search of an indian restaurant where we will get "batturas".Jacob had beeen to that place some 8 months back.But today,even he could nt locate the place.We searched for around 45 minutes around the area which jacob had vague idea of.But couldnt find
it.:(. Venky suggested that we will have pizza.i was happy.But jacob and hari dont like pizza that much.When we were discussing all these and walking back to our car,we found a chinese restuarant.Jacob assured both me and Venky that we will find vegetarian food there and finally we decided to get in there.Venky and me had Veg noodles and jacob,hari,vikram had Chicken fried rice.It wasnt that bad as i expected.

While coming back,after we got into the express highway back to Gumi,Venky sent the car flying at 180 kmph!.here the express highways are 3 - lane(towards one side).and there is lot of space.No signals.but there is a speed limit of 100 kmph.There are cameras at regular intervals which will note ur car's number plate if we go beyond that.But there will warnings too.around 500 metres infront of the camera telling us that there is a camera infront.The korean authorities want us to decrease the spead only at these points.and since we had travelled in this route quite a few times,we knew there are no cameras except just one before we reached Gumi.So we just came flying.:).

For the past two days,i was trying to make up my mind to come back after the vacation.although i dont really like to come back,everyone who loves me suggested me that its better to come back and work here for some more time.So these days i am trying to be happy thinking about the vacation.but i feel that this would be the most exciting period.Once i go for the vacation,2 weeks will go very fast.:(.Now atleast i can live thinking how happy i would be to meet everyone.

I watched the movie "pookkaalam varavaayi" yesterday ,thanx to malumovies.I wanted to watch this film because of the beautiful song "etho vaarmukilin...".I like this song a lot.Its the story of a small girl whos deprived of all the pleasures of childhood because her parents stay seperated.Jayaram is her school bus driver .Once he takes her to his village where she finds muthassan and muthassi who recite a lot of stories to her and she finds a lot of friends.I liked this movie also.

I am going back to india!.Its almost confirmed.It seems,I will be able to go mostly by october end.Today morning i broke my sleep.woke up at 6.30 or so thinking about it.I havnt stayed away from everyone for such a long time.Eager to meet everyone now.What to do now?..I want to do lot of shopping.But i am not at all good in picking gifts.Let me buy chocolates from e-mart.then i have small small items that i bought when we went for trips..,suspense!.but will that be sufficient?. dont know..but i still have 3 more weeks to go out and select everything :).

I am not sure about what will happen after this vacation.Some more things needs to be sorted out.Let me hope for the best.In most of such situations in life, i have always ended up messing everything.I am hoping that it doest happen this time and everything ends up fine.

in 2 days time,i will be able to hear a happy news i hope...a much awaited one.and the news is - I may get a vacation to india!.But nothing is confirmed.Waiting to tell everyone that i am coming back!!.
Rao is going to india on 15th.and jacob leaves on 23rd.Need to ask jacob when is my chance.But hes working in 3rd party office these days.so waiting eagerly to meet him.

we had a good lunch today.5 of us,Ali,Chester,I.K,Venky and me went to cappello and ordered a super size Potato Pizza and a medium size cheese Pizza.I.K and Venky are huge likers of Cheese pizza.I like the potato pizza the best. :).It looked as if it will be too much for us.But we finished it!

I.K and chester are my collegues.They are very friendly and simple.I.K was once surprised to hear i am only 22.it happened some 4 months back..now i am 23 :).Its because in Korea,there is 2 year compulsory training for all men b4 their graduation.Most of the times,it will be 28-29 years by the time a korean engineer joins his job.
